New Children’s Theater Company Finally Launches in La Crescenta and Glendale, offering classes and performance opportunities for kids of all experience levels

La Crescenta, CA – A new opportunity for theatrical experience is finally coming to the La Crescenta and Glendale communities with the launch of Stage Arts Academy of Southern California, a children’s theater company founded by seasoned entertainment industry professionals and credentialed local teachers. The company is dedicated to training the next generation of young performers in the essential skills of singing, dancing, and acting for the stage while building confidence for life.

With a passion for performing arts and a mission to inspire confidence and creativity in children of our community, Stage Arts Academy offers a unique blend of professional-level instruction and nurturing educational support. All instructors are credentialed school teachers with a combined thirty years of experience working in the class room with specialties in drama, music, and dance. “Not only are we teachers, we are all moms and know firsthand what a gift you give a child when you empower them with the confidence to share their talents”, says Co-Founder and Music Instructor Rebecca O’Neal.

Classes and workshops will be offered year-round, culminating in live theatrical performances where students can showcase their talents in front of live audiences in Broadway musicals and plays. Co-Founders Wendy Goldsworthy and Virginia Grigori, dreamed of having this program in their own community, “I have driven my daughters to the surrounding areas for years for various performs programs and to learn their stagecraft, but I wanted them be able to bond with kids in their own community, kids they will go to middle and high school with, and when there were no local performance opportunities, I decided to start one myself”, says Goldsworthy, Theater is my kids team sport, the performing arts are more than extracurricular, they’re essential life skills – helping kids develop confidence, empathy, and resilience – skills they’ll carry with them for the rest of their lives.”

Middle School Drama Teacher and Co-Founder, Virginia Grigori: “We’re not just teaching theater—we’re helping kids discover their voice in a safe, collaborative environment where they can shine on stage and in life.”

Stage Arts Academy is now enrolling students ages 6–17 for its inaugural season beginning April 26th and May 5th. Whether your child is stepping on stage for the first time or looking to build on existing skills, the program promises a fun, enriching, and empowering experience. Co-Founder, Choreographer / dance teacher, Chadae Mcalister, “My best friends in life came from my various productions. Not only will the students learn necessary stage craft, they will make lifelong friendships.”

Upcoming workshops are taking place at the Nocturn Theater (formerly Center Theater) in Glendale. For more information, visit:
